The Klipsch KS-525-THX is a THX Ultra2®-certified surround speaker, sold and priced as a matched pair, built around Klipsch’s Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST) for installation in dedicated home theater and commercial cinema-style rooms.
The Klipsch KS-525-THX is a purpose-built surround speaker for dedicated home theater and commercial-style cinema rooms, engineered to meet the strict requirements of THX Ultra2® certification. It uses Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST) — the same approach used in Klipsch’s professional cinema loudspeakers — to deliver an even, enveloping surround field rather than a narrow, direct-radiating pattern.
Each KS-525-THX combines two 5.25" Cerametallic™ woofers with dual 5" square Tractrix® horn tweeters, arranged to produce a smooth, broad distribution of sound. WDST is designed to give installers both immersive ambient surround coverage and precise localization of discrete effects, with more placement flexibility on the wall or ceiling than a conventional direct-firing surround.
The sealed enclosure uses the same dado-and-rabbet cabinet construction found in Klipsch’s professional loudspeakers, which keeps the cabinet rigid in suspended, wall-, or ceiling-mounted applications. Omni-Mount suspension points accept standard mounting hardware, and premium internal wiring is used throughout. The KS-525-THX is finished in a Galaxy Black cabinet with an aluminum fascia.
I’d invite you to book an appointment at our Ottawa showroom to discuss whether the KS-525-THX is the right surround speaker for your room, and to hear how it integrates with the rest of a THX Ultra2® system. Our team can also handle placement planning and professional installation.
WDST is Klipsch’s approach to surround speaker design that combines dual woofers and dual horn tweeters to spread sound broadly across a room, giving both immersive ambient coverage and accurate localization of individual effects with flexible placement options.
Yes. It includes Omni-Mount suspension points compatible with standard mounting hardware, and its dado-and-rabbet cabinet construction is built to stay rigid in suspended installations.

Some large or heavy products — including floor-standing speakers, large subwoofers, and TVs — ship via freight carrier rather than standard parcel courier. For these items:
If freight charges for an oversized item are not already included in your order total, we will confirm the cost with you before shipping.
If the shipping box shows signs of physical damage, we recommend inspecting the product while the shipping company is present. Minor punctures or dents to the box do not often result in damage to the well-padded product inside, so a refusal of delivery is generally not necessary for minor box imperfections. However, should the product itself show signs of damage, it must be refused at the time of delivery for an RMA. Products not refused due to damage at the time of delivery will not be eligible for RMAs. To ensure your full rights to warranty and potential future claims, please have the delivery company note any box damage on file, even if the product itself appears undamaged.
