Precision Controlled 2-Speed Motor System: The Pro-Ject X8 employs a sophisticated DC/AC generator board which combined with the precisions 2-speed control board (33-1/3, 45 RPM) delivers clean and stable power to the silent motor system. The X8's motor chassis is carefully balanced and suspended on a precision tuned TPE belt; this way the motor chassis is effectively decoupled from the main plinth for optimal performance. It is free floating, horizontally completely level, and able to operate at the highest performance levels. As a result, this silent motor suspension system eliminates any unwanted vibration from being transmitted to the turntable's chassis, platter, tonearm, or cartridge.
MDF Plinth with Aluminum/TPE Feet: Structurally, the X8 is supported by its large, heavy, dense and stiff MDF plinth, reducing unwanted resonances to almost imperceptible levels. By adding this extra mass, the X2 is even quieter, allowing the vinyl reproduction to become more detailed and precise. The MDF plinth stands on height-adjustable, Aluminum/TPE sandwich construction feet. The TPE damping technology in the feet effectively decouples the X8 from the mounting surface it is placed on. The feet are also height adjustable.

TPE Damped Aluminum Platter: The X8 offers a heavy (5.1kg), TPE damped mass-loaded platter precision lathed from a single aluminum block and finely balanced. A neodymium magnet decreases the load on the platter's stainless steel spindle and ceramic tipped bearing. Considering the massively heavy platter, this leads to a smoothly rotating base for your vinyl records and perfect speed stability. In addition, the X8 comes with a standard felt mat, but you can also experiment with different material mats in the future and tailor the sound to your taste.
9" One-Piece Carbon-Fiber Tonearm: The Pro-Ject 9cc Evolution 9" precision tonearm with a carbon fiber arm tube provides precise tracking of the record groove and efficiently redirects parasitic vibrations away from the cartridge into the mounting board. The Pro-Ject 9cc Evolution tonearm has has a headshell and arm tube that are fashioned from a single piece of carbon fiber in a conical shape in order to avoid standing wave reflections. Furthermore, the inverted bearing, arm bearing, and counterweight are all designed to avoid and reject resonance. Complete adjustment of arm height, VTA, and headshell azimuth is available and reliable. The silicone-damped arm lift is also adjustable to suit the tonearm's height. The tonearm uses flexible high-purity copper internal wiring from the headshell to its 5-pin connector.
Moonstone MM Cartridge: The Pro-Ject X8 turntable is outfitted with a Sumiko Oyster Series Moonstone MM cartridge. This high-performance MM phono cartridge utilizes the powerful mechanically-generated electromotive forces of the moving magnet to help give your vinyl playback extra punch and convincing realism. The Moonstone cartridge is exceptionally well-balanced and dimensionally dense for breathtaking dynamics with a frequency response of 12-33kHz.. It features an aluminum cantilever, micron-elliptical stylus, and pure copper wiring.
Balanced & Unbalanced Connectivity: The Pro-Ject X8 is outfitted with balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) connection. There is stereo unbalanced RCA output, plus a 5-pin mini XLR balanced stereo output to connect the turntable to the Phono MM input of your stereo receiver or integrated amplifier. By utilizing the X8 turntable's 5-pin mini XLR output, you'll enjoy the benefits of a balanced signal path.
- A 5-pin mini XLR to stereo RCA cable (4' in length) is included to make connection between the X8 turntable's 5-pin mini XLR input and the Phono MM input of your stereo receiver or integrated amp.
- If your receiver or amplifier does not have a suitable Phono MM input, a separate Phono Preamplifier (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) is required to connect the turntable to your receiver or amp.
Dust Cover: The Pro-Ject X8 comes supplied with a dust cover to prevent dust build-up on the turntable.

AC Power Adapter: The Pro-Ject X8 includes an external AC power adapter (with 6' cord) that plugs into the back of the turntable and into an AC wall outlet or surge protector (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).
