17" High-Excursion Driver: The SB17-Ultra R|Evolution is built around an all-new proprietary 17" long-throw driver with a high-precision, tuned overhung motor configuration. The glass fiber composite cone and dual 8" voice coils, wound with copper-clad aluminum wire on bifilar formers, combine low mass with high thermal capacity for massive, controlled excursion at reference output levels.
Dual Monoblock Amplifier: Each voice coil is driven by its own dedicated monoblock amplifier channel, delivering a combined 2,800 watts RMS (6,000+ watts peak). The fully discrete, dual-mono MOSFET design and onboard DSP maintain precise control over the driver at any volume, from subtle low-level detail to full-scale dynamic peaks.
Sealed Cabinet Construction: A rigid MDF enclosure with a double-thick front baffle and extensive internal bracing eliminates cabinet resonance and coloration, even when the massive driver is producing maximum internal cabinet pressure at reference sound-pressure levels.
6-Band Parametric EQ & Auto Room EQ: The onboard DSP platform provides a 6-band parametric equalizer with adjustable frequency, gain, and Q for each band, letting the output be precisely tailored to a room's acoustic response.
Auto Room EQ via Smartphone Microphone: Using the free SVS subwoofer app and a compatible smartphone's built-in microphone, Auto Room EQ measures the in-room frequency response and automatically applies correction, removing the guesswork from manual tuning.
Balanced and Unbalanced Connections: Both unbalanced RCA (10kΩ input impedance, up to 4Vrms) and balanced XLR (14kΩ input impedance, up to 14Vrms/+24dBu) line-level/LFE inputs are provided, supporting both consumer and professional-grade source equipment.
Three User Presets: Up to three custom presets (Movie, Music, Custom) can be stored and switched between instantly via the app or the subwoofer's rear-panel Intelligent Control Interface.
App Control: The free SVS subwoofer app (Apple iOS and Android) provides full wireless control over volume, crossover frequency, phase, parametric EQ, room gain compensation, and Auto Room EQ from a listening seat.
