Raising the Roof is a celebration of corporate, community, and personal excellence that pays tribute to outstanding leaders who have achieved excellence within their respective fields and community endeavours. This year we are proud to be honouring the Taggart Family. The Taggart Family is highly respected in Ottawa for its astute business achievements and corporate citizenship. The family owns the largest infrastructure company of its kind in Eastern Ontario, the Taggart Group; comprising of Taggart Construction Limited, Taggart Realty Management, Doran Construction Limited, and Tamarak Development Corporation. The Taggart Group is well-known for its breadth and quality of services and as a key participant in the transformation of Ottawa and the communities that we live in. The Taggart Family’s civic commitment has precipitated active engagement and leadership by members of the family in philanthropic endeavours that continue to benefit important causes and our community. Villa Marconi is a charitable, 128 bed long-term care facility that provides exceptional care for its residents in a multi-cultural and modern facility. It also houses a vibrant Marconi Centre that offers innovative and comprehensive programming and services that enhance the quality of life for our community’s seniors. I am very excited and happy to support our local Ottawa community and the Villa Marconi Centre. I wanted to add some excitement to the live auction this year and donated a large Klipsch 5.1 Home Theatre System valued at over $4,300. A special thank you and congratulations goes out to Mr. Pat Carrozza owner of Trattoria Caffe Italia for being the highest bidder. I am looking forward to attending and participating again in 2017.
