The Klipsch RP-240D is a wall-mountable, flat-panel speaker from the Reference Premiere lineup, built just 2-1/2" deep so it can sit almost flush against a wall as a center or front-height channel — without giving up Klipsch’s horn-loaded tweeter and Cerametallic™ woofers.
The RP-240D is Klipsch’s answer for home theater builds that need to save space or keep the wiring and cabinets out of sight. Part of the Reference Premiere lineup, it packs a 1" titanium tweeter and dual 3-1/2" Cerametallic™ woofers into a cabinet just 2-1/2" deep, so it can be mounted flush against a wall instead of taking up floor or shelf space.
The RP-240D ships with a wall-mounting bracket for on-wall installation and an included glass base for tabletop placement, either vertically or horizontally. Mount one horizontally under a TV as a center channel, or place a pair vertically on either side of the screen as front-height or front-wide channels in an all-Klipsch system.
Klipsch mounts its titanium tweeter inside a flared Tractrix® horn to control dispersion and keep highs crisp and focused. The RP-240D uses the Reference Premiere line’s refined 90°x90° Hybrid Cross-Section horn, giving it a wider sweet spot and more precise imaging than a typical flat-panel speaker.
Pair three RP-240Ds across the front for a discreet home theater soundstage, or mix in the larger RP-640D where space allows. For surrounds, the more compact RP-140D is a natural match, and we’d still recommend a powered subwoofer for full-range bass in any on-wall system.
I’d invite you to book an appointment at our Ottawa showroom to hear the RP-240D alongside the RP-140D and Klipsch’s floorstanding Reference Premiere II speakers, so you can compare a discreet on-wall build against a conventional setup before you decide.
Yes — it’s designed to work horizontally under or above a TV as a center channel, or vertically as a front or height channel, using the included tabletop base or wall-mounting bracket.
No, speaker wire is sold separately. Ask us in-store or by appointment for a recommendation that matches your amplifier and run length.
Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-240D features proprietary Tractrix Horn technology coupled with a Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) titanium tweeter to produce clean, natural high frequencies.
Spun-Copper Cerametallic Woofers: The two 3.5" woofers of the RP-240D loudspeaker features Klipsch's distinctive, spun-copper Cerametallic material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range. The woofers also employ a rubber surround for added durability.
Bass Reflex Enclosure: The horn-loaded tweeter and spun-copper Cerametallic woofers are housed in a bass reflex enclosure with a rear/side firing port for greater efficiency and better midbass performance. The speaker enclosure is made of ABS and features a matte black painted finish.
Wrap-Around Magnetic Grille: The Klipsch Reference Premiere series RP-240D on-wall loudspeaker comes with a removable, wrap-around cloth magnetic grille which easily snaps into place over the ABS enclosure.
Spring-Post Terminals: The RP-240D is equipped with spring-post terminals to connect bare speaker wire from 16AWG to 12AWG. Due to the position of the spring-post terminals they will not accept banana plugs or pin-connectors.
Applications: The RP-240D on-wall speaker can be used as a front, center, or surround speaker in a home theater setup.
Mounting Options: The RP-240D on-wall loudspeaker can be mounted vertically or horizontally when wall-mounted or attached to the included table-top base. Dual four-way keyhole slots allow for easy, tight-to-the-wall mounting (mounting screws not included). The included glass base provides a table-top solution for placing the speaker on a stand, table, or shelf (the base attaches to the speaker using the two included screws).

If the shipping box shows signs of physical damage, we recommend inspecting the product while the shipping company is present. Minor punctures or dents to the box do not often result in damage to the well-padded product inside, so a refusal of delivery is generally not necessary for minor box imperfections. However, should the product itself show signs of damage, it must be refused at the time of delivery for an RMA. Products not refused due to damage at the time of delivery will not be eligible for RMAs. To ensure your full rights to warranty and potential future claims, please have the delivery company note any box damage on file, even if the product itself appears undamaged.
