The KA-1000-THX is a dedicated external amplifier for passive THX® Ultra2 subwoofers — it isn’t a general-purpose power amp, but a single chassis engineered to run one or two subwoofers together at the output levels a THX® Ultra2 system calls for. It runs in Class D for high efficiency at these power levels, delivering a rated 500W continuous into 8 ohms or 1000W continuous into 4 ohms, with dynamic headroom rated at 2,050W (8 ohms) and 3,025W (4 ohms).
