About the Denon Home Sound Bar 550
The Home Sound Bar 550 packs a 4.0-channel array into a single, compact enclosure: two 0.75" soft-dome tweeters, four 2.1875" full-range drivers, and two 2"x3.5" passive radiators work together to create a virtual 3D surround effect without any extra speakers. It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby Digital, and DTS, and on its own fills out a 4.0-channel home theater — add Denon Home wireless speakers as rears, or (with a firmware update) Denon's wireless subwoofer, and it grows into a fuller surround system without running a single extra cable.
HDMI eARC/ARC handles TV audio pass-through with 4K/HDR video pass-through on its single HDMI input and output, and an included IR remote covers power, volume, mute, Night/Dialogue Enhancer, and bass/treble. The bar comes pre-loaded with remote codes for major TV brands (Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio) so an existing TV remote can handle power and volume directly, and HDMI CEC support extends that to switching inputs and adjusting volume over the HDMI connection on compatible TVs.
The 550 joins Denon's HEOS wireless multi-room platform, controlled from the free HEOS app on iOS or Android, for streaming services, internet radio, and a personal library alongside other HEOS speakers, receivers, and amplifiers. It streams Apple AirPlay 2, Amazon Music HD, Spotify, TIDAL, Pandora, SiriusXM, and TuneIn, plays high-res files up to 24-bit/192kHz over the network or USB, and has Amazon Alexa built in with Google Assistant available as an optional add-on. Built-in keyhole slots support wall mounting, or it sits on a table below the screen.
