About the Denon DP-450USB Black
The DP-450USB is a semi-automatic, belt-drive turntable that ships with a Denon DSN-85 moving-magnet cartridge already mounted and aligned on its S-shaped aluminum tonearm. A built-in phono preamp with a phono/line switch lets you connect it directly to a standard line-level input on a receiver, powered speakers, or self-powered monitors, with no separate phono stage required. Electronic speed control covers all three speeds — 33-1/3, 45 (adapter included), and 78 RPM, though 78 RPM playback needs a separately sold 78-compatible cartridge.
What sets the DP-450USB apart is its built-in USB-A 2.0 port for one-touch vinyl digitizing: pressing "REC MP3" or "REC WAV" converts the turntable's analog signal directly to an MP3 (44.1kHz/192kbps) or WAV (44.1kHz/16-bit) file on a connected FAT16/FAT32-formatted USB drive — no computer or recording software needed. Each recording is saved as its own file, ready to play back on any device that reads MP3 or WAV from USB.
An MDF plinth, die-cast aluminum platter, and vibration-resistant chassis work together to keep external interference away from the stylus, and semi-automatic operation lifts the tonearm and stops the platter automatically at the end of a record. Detachable audio and power cables (the power cable runs off a 12-volt DC adapter) simplify setup, and a dust cover is included.
