About the Denon DCD-900NE
The DCD-900NE is Denon's entry-level NE-series disc player, built around a 32-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog converter paired with Denon's Advanced AL32 Processing Plus for digital upsampling and filtering, plus a DAC master clock to keep jitter out of the signal path. Pure Direct Mode bypasses non-essential audio processing circuits for a cleaner sound on critical listening.
It plays standard CD audio along with MP3, AAC, and WMA files (up to 320kbps/48kHz) burned to CD-R or CD-RW — note this model doesn't support SACD, DVD Audio, or CD-Text. A front-panel USB-A port extends playback further, handling compressed formats plus high-resolution ALAC and AIFF (24-bit/96kHz), FLAC and WAV (24-bit/192kHz), and DSD up to 5.6MHz straight from a USB thumb drive, so ripped and downloaded music plays back as easily as a store-bought disc.
A dimmable display screen and programmable operation with repeat and random play round out the everyday convenience features, and optical and coaxial digital outputs let you send its digital signal out to an external DAC.
