More Than Just CDs: Beyond standard CD and SACD playback, the DCD-1700NE reads a wide range of compressed and high-resolution audio files burned to CD-R/RW or DVD±R/RW (ISO9660 format, up to 1,000 folders and 2,000 files per disc), including both 12cm and 8cm discs. On the high-res side it handles WAV, FLAC, AIFF, and ALAC up to 24-bit/192kHz, plus DSD at 2.8 or 5.6MHz; for everyday compressed formats it covers MP3, WMA, and AAC. That range means a single disc of ripped or downloaded music can play back just as easily as a store-bought CD.

If the shipping box shows signs of physical damage, we recommend inspecting the product while the shipping company is present.
