Features
CD Transport: The Audiolab 7000CDT is a dedicated CD transport (not a CD player). It is not equipped with its own built-in DAC.
High-Precisions Optical System: The Audiolab 7000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data buffer for accurate and seamless CD playback. The 7000CDT employs a read-ahead digital buffer to reduce disc-reading failures, helping it plays scratched and damaged CDs that may be unreadable by conventional mechanisms. To ensure a flawless signal reaches the accompanying DAC, the coaxial output of the 7000CDT is fed from a differential line driver. The master clock is controlled by a high-accuracy crystal oscillator, enabling the digital output from both coaxial and optical sockets to exhibit vanishingly low levels of jitter (digital distortion).
- The Audiolab 7000CDT supports playback of CD Audio discs (16-bit/44.1kHz), as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs with PCM music files (16-bit/44.1kHz)..
- The 700CDT is not compatible with with MP3, WMA, AAC, or WAV music files on CD-R or CD-RW. SACD, DVD Audio, and CD Text, discs are not supported.
Non-Resonant Design: The low-friction loading tray, sturdy aluminum base and chassis of the 7000CDT work to tackle vibrations that are experienced due to the mechanics of a high-spin-velocity motor. Further, the transport is mounted in its own, electromagnetically shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply. All of these contribute to the exemplary digital signal extraction, while the proven resonance reduction further improves performance and onward effect in ancillary Hi-Fi equipment and signal chains.
Optical & Coaxial Digital Outputs: The 7000CDT's onboard digital decoder utilizes digital coax and optical outputs to deliver the maximum versatility. There is one coaxial (RCA) digital output and one optical (toslink) digital output that can be used to connect an external DAC, preamplifier, or integrated amplifier.
Note: The 7000CDT does not offer any analog audio outputs.
USB-A Port: In addition to CD Audio playback, the 7000CDT also features a rear-panel USB-A port for music playback from a connected USB MSC (mass storage class device), such as a USB thumbdrive formatted in FAT12, FAT16, or FAT32. Supported music files include MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV. The 7000CDT can recognize up to 700 folders and a total of 65,535 files.
File Format | Sampling Frequency | Bit-Rate or Bit-Length |
MP3 | 32-44.1kHz | 32-320kbps |
WMA | 32-44.1kHz | 32-320kbps |
AAC | 32-44.1kHz | 32-320kbps |
WAV | 32-44.1kHz | 16-bit |
2.8" IPS Display: The 7000CDT features a full-color 2.8" IPS display on the front-panel with a detailed, but simple-to-use GUI (graphic user interface). The front-panel IPS display offers a vivid representation of information including system settings, format identification, folder and track numbers, elapsed time, as well as other data. The unit will even display song/artist/album info (no album art) from your USB music files.
Note: The unti does not support song/artist/album info for CD Audio, CD-R, or CD-RW discs.
Controls: The Audiolab 7000CDT features front-panel, push-button controls and comes with an IR wireless remote control.
- IR Remote: The included IR remote control provides wireless operation of the Audiolab 7000CDT, as well as control of an Audiolab integrated amplifier (such as the 7000A). Remote control functions for the CD transport include Power On/Off, Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Rewind, Previous/Next Track, Repeat, Random, Program (99), plus direct track access (0-9).
- Front-Panel: The front-panel includes the following control functions - Power On/Off, Eject, Play/Pause, Stop, Fast Forward/Rewind, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat Disc.
Note: There is no eject button on remote; the eject button is only on the front-panel of the CD transport.
12V Trigger Outputs: The 7000CDT has a pair of 12V trigger outputs (3.5mm) on the rear-panel that can activate the Audiolab 7000A integrate amp's or any other component's trigger input. This will enable your connected devices to be brought in and out of standby using the trigger connections.
Auto Standby: The 7000CDT CD transport will automatically enter standby mode after 20 minutes or 1 hour of no playback signal and control inactivity.
Detachable AC Power Cord: The Audiolab 7000CDT comes with a detachable 6.5' IEC 2-prong AC power cord.
