Klipsch KL-650-THX — the Left-Channel Unit
This listing is for the left-channel version of the Klipsch KL-650-THX, the larger of the two LCR loudspeakers in Klipsch’s THX® Ultra2 architectural family. As part of the THX Ultra2 certification program, the KL-650-THX is engineered to reveal the full dynamic range and detail a film’s sound mix was designed with, brought into a residential cabinet rather than a commercial cinema enclosure.
Dual Cerametallic™ Woofers and a Cinema-Grade Horn
Dual 6.5" Cerametallic™ woofers handle bass and midrange, vented through a front-firing port for low-bass extension without needing rear clearance. Up top, a 1" titanium-dome compression driver is mated to a 6" by 10" Tractrix® horn — the same horn-loading approach Klipsch uses in professional cinema systems, chosen specifically for high output with low distortion at reference playback levels.
Built Like a Professional Speaker
The cabinet uses dado-and-rabbet joinery, the same construction method Klipsch uses on its professional-line speakers, for long-term structural integrity in suspended or wall-mounted installations. Omni-Mount suspension points let an installer mount it to a wall or ceiling with standard hardware, and the Galaxy black finish with aluminum fascia is built to disappear into a theater room rather than draw attention to itself.
Left, Right, or Center — Order What Your Design Calls For
The KL-650-THX ships as separate left-channel and right-channel units (this listing is the left channel) so your installer can order exactly the front-stage configuration your room needs, whether that’s a matched L/R pair, a full L/C/R array, or a single replacement unit for an existing system. All KL-650-THX units share identical electronics and are timbre-matched to Klipsch’s other THX Ultra2-certified models, so they mix and match cleanly across a multi-channel design.
Let’s Design Your Ottawa Home Theater Front Stage
Because a THX Ultra2 speaker like this is almost always part of a larger custom install rather than a single walk-in purchase, I’d invite you to book a design and installation consultation with our Ottawa team. We’ll help you work out the right L/C/R configuration, timbre-match it to surrounds and a subwoofer, and plan the mounting and wiring for your specific room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy the left and right units together?
Not necessarily — each channel is sold individually. The left and right units are functionally identical and intended as the matched left- and right-channel speakers of a front stage, so most installs order one of each (and often a third unit oriented for center-channel use).
What size room is the KL-650-THX designed for?
THX Ultra2 certification targets larger dedicated theater rooms — generally 3,000 cubic feet or more — where the speaker needs to maintain clean, undistorted output at reference playback levels. Book a consultation and we can confirm it’s the right fit for your specific room.
